Tenant involvement

Tenant Voice - “Your Voice in Every Choice”

This page is for council tenants and leaseholders who want to get involved in shaping the services that impact them.

We want to work with you to improve services and create neighbourhoods you are proud to be part of. We aim to do this in partnership, by speaking honestly, listening to each other’s views and enabling you to influence decisions about your home and the services you receive.

Look at the Tenant Involvement leaflet.

Visit this webpage to read about the different ways you can get involved in shaping services.

More detail about our approach is included in our Tenant Voice Strategy 2025-2030.

Below you can read about some of the services we provide as part of our tenant involvement work.

What we do

Tenants knowledge hub

Training for you: We offer various training courses to give you the opportunity to learn new skills, meet other tenants and share practical learning that can be useful in everyday life. Many are free or low cost and transport can often be arranged. Training opportunities will be advertised here and through Open House magazine as and when they arise.

Find out more about training through our Tenant Knowledge Hub

By getting involved in one of the knowledge hub sessions, tenants will be able to increase their knowledge and understanding of housing services, policies, and key topics, while providing opportunities to ask questions, share feedback and influence service improvement. For more details contact:

Estate inspections: We know you want to live in a safe and pleasant environment that is maintained to the highest standards. Every year we visit all council-owned housing estates, together with tenant representatives, so that any issues can be identified.

Officers and independent tenant inspectors will be conducting an annual programme of Estate Inspections throughout the borough commencing May 2026.

Read about estate inspections for 2026/2027.

Community Estate Days: Our community estate days are a place where the councils housing teams, internal departments and external partners come out into the communities and offer face-to-face engagement opportunities to tenants and residents.

Community estate days bring tenants, local communities, and council teams together, to strengthen community connections, promote engagement opportunities, and provide an informal way for tenants to share views and access housing information and support.

Different officers from our teams will be on hand to take queries and offer support and advice, please come along and see us at an event throughout the year, the events calendar will see us in the following locations:

‘You said, we did’ – making a difference together

Listening to our tenants and acting on feedback is central to how we deliver housing services at Tamworth Borough Council. Over the past 12 months, tenants have shared their views through a variety of ways including meetings, engagement events, surveys, complaints and day‑to‑day conversations with our teams and more.

This feedback has helped shape improvements across housing services, ensuring our approach is clear, accessible, and focused on what matters most to tenants. You can see examples of 'You said, we did' and how tenant feedback has led to real action and positive outcomes over the last 12 months, 2025-2026.

Effectiveness of tenant involvement at Tamworth Borough Council 2026 -2027

At Tamworth Borough Council, we believe it is important to be open and transparent with tenants about how we are performing and how your involvement helps shape housing services.

The Tenant Voice Team uses clear key performance indicators (KPI’s) to measure how effectively we involve tenants, listen to feedback, and ensure tenant views influence housing decisions and service improvements. These measures help us demonstrate to tenants how your voice is making a difference and how we hold ourselves to account.

You can see a summary of the types of key performance indicators (KPI’s) we use to track our performance. These focus on participation, communication, influence, and outcomes.
