Bins and Recycling

Our waste services are jointly operated with Lichfield District Council.

Find out when your bins will be emptied using the online bin calendar (on our partner's Lichfield District Council website).

MISSED BINS

There are currently no reports of missed bins.

If your bin has been missed, please report it by the end of the next working day after it was due to be emptied. If the crew have not reported an issue with your bin, we will return within 3 working days to empty it. If an issue has been reported, one of our colleagues will advise you at the time of your call or when responding to your enquiry. If there is an issue, or you have forgotten to put your bin out again, please accept our apologies but we will not be able to return and your bin will not be emptied until the next scheduled collection day. To report a missed binyou can fill our online form in here or telephone 0345 002 0022. (This number is charged at the local rate if calling from a landline. It can cost more if calling from a mobile phone.)

Bins and recycling - Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Waste and recycling collections are continuing as normal. We will update this page if there any any service updates.

Do not put tissues in your blue binUrgent message - Please do not add used tissues or kitchen roll to your blue bins. They cannot be recycled and could mean our truck-load of waste is rejected by the recycling plant.

Please do not add extra side waste with your black bins. We will not be able to collect it. You can add folded up cardboard that won't fit in your bin on your blue bin collection day.

Helping our waste and recycling teams

To help protect our waste and recycling teams as they empty bins across the district, please follow this advice:

If you have COVID-19 symptoms (a continuous cough and/or a high temperature) or you have a confirmed case in your household, please dispose of your personal waste, such as tissues and disposable cleaning cloths, securely within a plastic bag that is tied up. With clean hands, place the bag into another plastic bag, tie it securely and kept it separate from other waste. After setting aside for 72 hours, place the bag in your black bin. Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.

If you live in a building with communal waste areas, please store the personal waste bin bags as above for at least 72 hours before putting them in the communal bins.

Wash your bin handles

As an extra precaution, we are asking our residents to clean their bin handles before and after emptying. This will help to protect you and and our waste and recycling teams. Thank you for your support

Please make sure your bins are presented at the edge of your property, next to the adopted highway by 6.00am on the day of collection.

Report a damaged or lost bin here. Please note there is now a £20.50 charge to replace lost or stolen black refuse bins only
