  • Partnership with local event organisers delivers sustainable future for beloved community tradition
  • Event relocates to Statfold Country Park with enhanced safety measures and entertainment programme
  • Free Park & Ride service makes access easy for all Tamworth residents

Tamworth Borough Council announces that the much-loved annual fireworks display will move to a new format and location from November 2025, prioritising public safety while delivering an enhanced experience for families.

The change comes as Tamworth Borough Council responds to new safety requirements under Martyn's Law and rising costs. Residents have consistently told the authority through annual budget surveys to reduce spending on events to focus resources on essential community services.

The new event will be at Statfold Country Park, delivered in partnership with local organisers Laughing Bulldog Events Ltd.

"Our absolute priority is keeping people safe," said Councillor Lewis Smith, portfolio holder for people services, engagement, leisure and heritage. "The fireworks display has grown tremendously in popularity over the years, attracting many thousands of visitors from both Tamworth and surrounding areas. We know how much displays are valued by local communities, and we’re committed to supporting safe, well-managed events. Delivering the fireworks in the same way in the castle grounds means we can no longer guarantee the level of security required under new terrorism protection laws.

"By working with our partners, we're making sure this beloved tradition continues in a way that's both safe and sustainable. The new format will offer more entertainment than ever before, including live music from local acts and tribute bands alongside the main fireworks display."

The previous free event cost Tamworth Borough Council upwards of £70,000 every year. These funds will now support services for vulnerable communities, reflecting residents' priorities as expressed in budget consultations over past years.

Enhanced event experience

Tickets will go on sale soon.

The new event on Saturday 1 November 2025 will run from 4pm to 10pm at Statfold Country Park, with a full evening of family entertainment, featuring:

  • The main firework display at 7.30pm
  • Live music from the Uks top tribute acts, The ABBA Reunion tribute show and UKQUEEN
  • Live music from local bands
  • DJs providing continuous entertainment
  • Street food and stalls from local traders
  • Access to the National Fairground Museum
  • 75,000 square metres of safe event space
  • 1,000 on-site parking spaces
  • Free Park & Ride

Accessible and sustainable

The ticketed event has been designed to provide Tamworth communities with a local event:

  • General admission, advance ticket: £12 adults and £8 for children
  • On the day admissions, £15 adults and £10 for children
  • Under 5s go free
  • Car parking: £3
  • Free Park & Ride from Tamworth
  • Free family tickets available for very low-income families

"This partnership allows us to maintain a fireworks celebration for the community while redirecting funding to essential services," added Councillor Smith. "The free Park & Ride service and providing free tickets for families who need them most makes sure the event remains available to people, regardless of their circumstances."
