Tamworth Borough Council are joining up with Tam-mirth Comedy Festival and Mortified, with a fantastic and diverse range of entertainment heading to town next month, at the Tamworth Assembly Rooms.

The Assembly Rooms will be providing fun and entertainment to audiences in a unique cabaret setting with six top-of-the-range comedians, plus iconic tribute and original band music, making it a festival to remember.

Headlining the festival is the renowned Ed Byrne on Sunday 17 September at 7.30pm. Attributed to Mark Twain, humour is defined as Tragedy Plus Time. Come and join Ed as he tests that formula by mining the most tragic event in his life for laughs.

Reviews for Ed’s show have included: “High quality stand-up from a master of observational comedy.”

“His wicked sense of humour and a charismatic stage presence engulfs the massive room packed to the rafters.”

“A masterclass from one of the finest comedians.”

On Monday 18 September at 7.30pm, Yippee Ki Yay will take to the stage with the acclaimed retelling of the classic film Die Hard from Richard Marsh. This joyfully funny show heads out on tour following rave reviews for its premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe, which also won it a London transfer.

When gunmen seize an LA skyscraper, off-duty policeman John McClane is the hostages’ only hope. This uplifting action romp pays affectionate tribute to the iconic 80s festive fan favourite. Essential viewing for Hans Gruber superfans and newcomers alike.

An Evening without Kate Bush hits the stage on Wednesday 20 September, performed By Sarah-Louise Young.

Howl with the Hounds of Love and dance on the moors with Wuthering Heights. She’s not there - but you are.

Whether you’ve been a fan for decades or recently joined the shoal via the ‘Stranger Things’ phenomenon, there has never been a better time to release your inner Bush and celebrate at this joyful, unique and mind-blowing show.

Steve Hewlett, comedy ventriloquist, has been delighting audiences of all ages with his ventriloquism and hilarious dummies since his big break as a finalist on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent in 2013. He will perform on Sunday 24 September with his hilarious show.

As part of the Tam-Mirth Comedy Festival for one night only, there will be screening of one of THE best ever Stand-up performances... Eddie Murphy RAW on Thursday 28 September.

Released in 1987, Eddie Murphy does his uproarious stand-up routine in concert, shot at N.Y.C's Felt Forum.

As of January 2022, it is the highest-grossing stand-up comedy concert film ever released and now you can watch it on the Assembly Rooms cinema screen.

Stephen K Amos is back with a brand-new show, after treading the boards of London's West End in the smash hit musical My Fair Lady, playing the iconic role of Alfred P. Doolittle.

Join Stephen at the Assembly Rooms on Friday 29 September, for an hour of solid jokes and guaranteed belly laughs. Fresh from a sell-out tour in Australia and the US and as seen on BBC2's QI and Live at the Apollo.

It’s not just comedy at the Assembly Rooms; there is also performances by QUEEN tribute MAJESTY on the 15 and 16 September, the iconic Hot Chocolate are returning after a sell out in 2022 on 22 September; Wrestling from Al Snows Wrestling Academy on 30 September; and the usual Monday Night and Silver Screen Movie Clubs.
