St Editha's Square - what's happening and when

Week 1

• Fencing and work area set up, initial ground preparations. Existing decorative paving removed and work starts to remove the concrete base.

Week 2

• Excavation and removal of concrete base continue.

Week 3

• A new concrete sub-base to be laid to bring the area up to the correct levels ahead of the new paving going down. Work also begins on installing the new hostile vehicle mitigation barrier at the College Lane entrance.

Week 4

• New paving to be laid in a herringbone pattern. Finishing works and edging to follow.

Week 5

• Final paving, sanding and site clearance. The College Lane barrier completed. Work begins on the new hostile vehicle mitigation barrier at the Church Street entrance.

Week 6

• Welcome traders back to the square. 

Week 7

• Complete final new barrier at the Church Street entrance.
