Subscribe to our garden waste service - from 15 December 2017

From 1 January 2018 we will provide a chargeable garden waste service to local homes. The service will cost £36 a year (per bin) for fortnightly collections (maximum 25, with a 2-week Christmas shut down). To subscribe to the garden waste service visit this webpage when the online booking form goes live on 15 December 2017.

If you do not sign up to the scheme, your garden waste (green) bin will not be emptied from 1 January 2018. For more information please read the Garden Waste FAQs page.

If you would like us to email you when the online form goes live, please email your details to: lichfieldconnects@lichfielddc.gov.uk or subscribe to our email database by clicking on the subscribe button below. In line with the Data Protection Act, we will only use your email to contact you to let you know the service have gone live and will not share your details with any other organisation.

 

 

What to put in your green bin

Leaves, weeds, tree and shrub prunings, grass and hedge cuttings, short branches and twigs, garden plants and vegetables.

We cannot collect: food waste, plastic bags or biodegradable liners, cardboard, paper, plant pots, pet waste, soil or turf, or large pieces of wood or branches as these are not easily compostable.

The waste we collect is turned into soil improver.

Please make sure your bin is at the kerbside from 7am on your collection day. Bins will not be emptied if they are heavy/overloaded.
