The countdown is on as Tamworth Borough Council prepare for the glorious annual town festival as We Love Tamworth returns next month for a two-day event at the stunning Castle Grounds.

The action-packed day of activities for the whole family is set to take place on Saturday 9 September and Sunday 10 September, and will bring with it a variety of entertainment for people of all ages to enjoy.

The event, which has been running since 2012, has been so popular that this year will take place over both Saturday and Sunday and will include stalls, games, live grassroots stage, a Crafted in Tamworth marquee; which will display and showcase offerings from various Tamworth businesses, art workshop and heritage craft demonstrations – just to mention a few.

Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts and Events team are on the lookout for live grassroots artists, who would love the opportunity to perform on the outdoor stage in the main arena. Please contact via: TARartsdevelopment@tamworth.gov.uk to find out more.

Plus, due to last year’s success, this year’s entertainment will also include activities as entertainment led by New Urban Era. This will include a full programme each day of a variety of workshops such as trapeze performances, breakdance, beatbox, environmental art, yoga, plus a doodle wall and sculpture trail. Sunday will provide additional live music performances plus Bibbledy Bob Clown show and junk jam workshops.

Returning for the second year, the Reliant Club will be joining us for their annual meet-up in the grounds on the Sunday. Reliant vehicles are set to park up and be a part of this great festival atmosphere.

The Community Games is also on in the grounds for a weekend of family fun, laughter and memory making. Experience more than 30 different sports and activities from local clubs and providers. Pre-book tickets now via: https://games.community-games.uk/online-booking/.

Councillor Andrew Cooper, Tamworth Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Entertainment and Leisure, said: “This year is set to be an even bigger and better We Love Tamworth event; with more live acts, an artisan tent, art workshops, sports, games and entertainment across both days, making for a great day out for families.

“Each year the event grows more popular with local residents and visitors to our town. Entrance is free, however some activities you do have to pay for such as Community Games.”

The weekend extravaganza would not be the same without local stalls holders. If you are interested in setting up a stall at this year’s event, please contact mkyte52@gmail.com who is on the lookout for any charity or commercial stalls. All proceeds from the stall fees will go to local and national good causes.
