The customer services front desk at Marmion House will open earlier on Tuesdays from June, following customer feedback.
The service opened in January after a full refurbishment and upgrade of technology offering additional face to face customer service access to meet the needs of the whole community.
Since opening at Marmion House, Tamworth residents are actively visiting to access council services, with residents wanting to use the service earlier in the day on Tuesday. From 1 June, Tuesday opening hours will change to 10am to 2pm. This means that the new weekly hours are now Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday between 10am and 2pm and later opening hours on Thursday 2pm - 6pm.
There is no change to services available over the phone, online or through apps such as MyHousing and MyTamworth.
The decision to originally open a new front desk at Marmion house was made last year following overwhelming resident feedback. Councillor Lewis Smith, portfolio holder for people services, leisure and engagement, said: “Residents were consistently telling councillors and the council for a number of years that they want a face-to-face customer service desk in Marmion House, additional to the service at the Assembly Rooms.
“The new front desk is proving to be a valued additional service. We promised to continually review its success and demand and have identified that people are waiting outside for the doors to open on a Tuesday morning and the desk is quieter later in the afternoon, therefore changing the opening hours on this day to 10am-2pm will better support customers when they want to access the service.”
