Tamworth Borough Council is inviting local young people to take part in a survey to help understand youngsters’ thoughts towards physical activity and movement, recreation, leisure, wellbeing, culture and local facilities.

Following on from a recent launch of the adult community survey, the council has also launched a similar survey for young people aged between 10–18 years.

The survey will be shared with local schools and community groups.

Questions about what Tamworth offers to encourage youngsters to lead a healthy and active lifestyle; what school activities and after school clubs are available; and what might stop someone becoming more active and engaging in local opportunities, are just some of those included in the survey.

The survey responses are anonymous and will be used by the council to understand what can be offered or improved to encourage young communities to be more active and engage in local opportunities.

The hope is that as many people as possible take part in this survey over coming weeks so the council receives some representative and useful information that can help inform future service improvements and local facilities.

The survey will take around 10 - 12 minutes to complete.

Hannah Peate, Assistant Director for Environment, Culture and Wellbeing for Tamworth Borough Council, said:

“We’re encouraging young people to take part in this survey as feedback will help us look at children and young adults physical and wellbeing priorities.

“We really want to hear young people’s thoughts and views so we can gain a real understanding of what is important and how we can help improve access to facilities and activities across the borough.”
