Cooling towers and condensers

You must tell us in writing if there is a cooling tower or evaporative condenser on your commercial premises. These are notifiable under the Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992.

Outbreaks of Legionnaires’ Disease have been associated with these wet cooling systems, resulting in serious infection and even fatalities.

You must also tell us immediately if your commercial site’s cooling tower or evaporative condenser is going to be changed, no longer used, or removed - or if your contact information has changed.

The above applies even if health, safety and welfare at your business is enforced by the Health and Safety Executive.

To notify us about a new installation, or tell us about changes, please complete the following application form.
