Talk to us Tamworth

Talk to Us graphicTalk to us Tamworth Residents Survey

Earlier this year (2021) we carried out a major new Residents Survey to attempt to gain a deeper understanding of people's views of Tamworth as a place to live and the work of the council.

The Talk to us Tamworth campaign was designed to find out more about how people want to engage with the council, what sort of things they would like to be kept informed about and how they prefer to receive that information.

A total of 539 people took part, generating more than 100 pages of comments, and our thanks and appreciation go to all of those residents for getting involved and telling us their views.

The survey was promoted in local media, on our social media channels and website, emailed to businesses, voluntary groups and partners, discussed during the council’s regular phone calls to elderly and vulnerable residents in our housing schemes and promoted on a leaflet which was sent to every home in the borough together with the Council Tax bills earlier this year. Anyone without internet access was able to take part in the survey over the phone with our Customer Services advisors.

The headline results are now available, and these can be viewed below.

We are now going through the survey in more depth to consider how the responses can be used most effectively to help shape improvements across council services and we will share an update on progress in the coming months.

The aim is that this survey be carried out regularly so we can compare results going forward.

The winner of the free prize draw for a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 tablet was Richard Brittan from Amington. For more information please read our news article on the Residents Survey results.

Citizens Panel: This is a made up of local residents who we ask about local services. If you join, we will contact you three or four times a year with postal or online surveys to get your views. You may be invited to take part in a questionnaire, discussion groups or workshops. The results are then used to inform decisions about how we deliver our services.
