Street care and cleaning
Street Scene Team is responsible for the cleansing of streets,
pavements, pedestrian areas and verges within the borough of
Tamworth.
We also maintain all Council owned grassed areas, shrub beds,
trees and hedges planting over 150,000 flowers annually. This year
we have removed over 700 tonnes of cuttings through our extensive
shrub bed maintenance programme.
Street Scene maintains 22 football pitches and 24 play areas
including the themed 'Castle Grounds' play area and recently opened
play areas at Wigginton Park (funded by the National Lottery) and
Amington Recreation Ground
Some areas of Tamworth are not maintained by Tamworth Borough
Council for example The Ventura and Jolly Sailor Retail Parks are
privately run and therefore are responsible for their own litter
collection and maintenance.
Street Scene also manage town centre markets, car parks, Borough
Council cemeteries and the Street Warden Service
