If you are of pensionable age or have certain
disabilities, you can qualify for a free buss pass.
The age of qualification for a Travelpass will
change to reflect the women's pensionable age, which is being
gradually increased from 60 to 65 by April 2020. Details of this
can be seen through the link to the right of this page.
Other eligible persons are as
follows:
- Registered blind or partially sighted
- Unable to walk without considerable and permanent
difficulty
- Severe or profound learning difficulties
- Profoundly deaf
- Medically unfit to drive
- Without use of both arms
- Without speech
Up to 31 March 2011, the administration of bus
passes has been undertaken by Tamworth Borough Council. This
service will continue after 1 April 2011 on behalf of Staffordshire
County Council.
In addition to public libraries, applications
for Concessionary Travelpasses can be made at the following
location:
Customer Services, Marmion House. Mon to
Thurs, 8.45am - 5.10pm. Friday, 8.45am - 5.05pm.

Bus Pass
Changes – 1st April 2011
From 1st April 2011 Staffordshire County
Council will be taking over Concessionary Travel.
This means you'll be able to travel by bus for
FREE in Staffordshire 24/7!
It also means that you can get your bus pass
from any local library or from Marmion House, Lichfield Street,
Tamworth, as per existing arrangements.

Staffordshire County Council will be
responsible for pass issuing. The information provided or already
held will be transferred from Tamworth Borough Council to
Staffordshire County Council.
Any information you give to us will be held
securely and in accordance with the rules on data protection. We
will treat personal details as private and confidential and
safeguard them. We will not disclose them to anyone unconnected
with the Council unless you have consented to their release or in
certain circumstances where:

· Disclosure is
necessary for the proper discharge of our statutory functions;
· Disclosure is
necessary to enable us to provide you with a requested service or
deal with your enquiry; In this respect with effect from 01 April
2011 the information provided or already held will be transferred
from Tamworth Borough Council to Staffordshire County Council as
responsibility for the provision of this service transfers. We are
under a duty to protect public funds. We may use the information
you have provided for the prevention and detection of fraud. We may
also share this information with other bodies responsible for
public funds or for auditing them for these purposes (for further
