The Council adopted a series of interim planning guidance notes on 15 August 2005. These guidance notes have been subject to public consultation that ran alongside the Local Plan and some of the comments at draft stage were taken into account in shaping the final documents. They are gradually being replaced with supplementary planning documents (SPDs) as the Council progresses with its local development framework. We have recently produced SPDs for Planning Obligations and Open Space for New Residential Developments. 

The Council has saved a number of policies from the Local Plan, but that did not include EMP8 the Telecommunications policy.  As a result, the Telecommunications SPD has been downgraded to interim planning guidance status.
