The Core Strategy will provide a spatial vision and key objectives for Tamworth. Alongside the Core Strategy we are preparing a Sustainability Appraisal to evaluate the social, environmental and economic effects and contribute to sustainable development. 

The process for producing Tamworth's Core Strategy is outlined below, together with the equivalent stages of the Sustainability Appraisal and appropriate Cabinet reports. Please click on the relevant document to view it.   

What we have done so far?

We have been collecting evidence since 2006 and have undertaken a large number of individual studies around different issues. 

The Council has recently consulted on a suite of revised housing policies.  The Affordable Housing Viability and Policy Study, which underpins this latest consultation, can be viewed and downloaded from the Evidence Base webpage.
