Annual Monitoring Report

The Council is required to produce an Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act (2004). The purpose of the AMR is to monitor:

  • The implementation of the Local Development Scheme (LDS); and
  • Whether and to what extent policies in Local Development Documents (LDDs) are being achieved.

At the moment, the Local Plan, which was prepared under the old development plan system, is the principal decision-making document. During the early stages of preparation of the local development framework, the Council is unable to monitor Local Development Document performance. As long as the policies in the Local Plan have not been superseded by new Local Development Documents, the Annual Monitoring Report will assess the implementation and success of policies in the Tamworth Local Plan 2001-2011.

You can download the latest Annual Monitoring Report from the right.

As progress continues on the Local Development Framework the Annual Monitoring Report will change, evolve and align itself more fully with Planning Regulations. We hope, however, that the annual monitoring reports already submitted are interesting and useful. They provide a firm basis on which to underpin future Core Strategy work.
