Step back in time through 900 years of history in this magnificent motte and bailey Castle.  The ancient walls hold many secrets, from sieges and hauntings to royal visits and bankruptcy. 

Groups (minimum of 12) are offered a special guided tour package that offers an evening out with a difference.  A costumed guide will bring the Castle’s colourful history to life.  Hear tales of past owners, a few ghostly legends and discover the weight and feel of weapons, armour and costumes.  Tours last approximately 1½ hours. 

The Castle also has some super evening events available for exclusive group bookings. These events include Murder Mystery nights, Medieval Banquets and the hugely successful Ghost Search’s. 

The nearest coach car park is situated at the Jolly Sailor car park and is about a 5 minute walk away from the castle. There are also access points for drop offs near to the castle.
