Award Winning Educational visits at the Castle

Hello and welcome to the Educational programme at Tamworth Castle. We have a wide range of workshops for different age range children. Tamworth Castle's education programme has just won the highly commended 2006 Sandford Award for Heritage Education.

About us

A small dedicated and experienced team. We are constantly striving to improve and develop our service to schools. We offer a wide range of curriculum led workshops suitable for key stage 1 to 4 students.

Bookings

All bookings and enquiries are dealt with by the education team. Bookings can be made over the phone or in person. A booking form will be filled out and a copy is sent to the school for reference only.

Shop

The castle shop stocks a wide variety of souvenirs and teachers' guides. A pre order packing service is available for groups. Hot and cold drinks and snacks are served.

Lunches

The Great Hall, located on ground floor level accommodates 100 children per sitting.

General Visits

To book a general visit i.e. no workshop, please contact the Education Team on the number above.

Pre-Visits

It is strongly recommended teachers visit the castle before they bring their school: once a booking has been made teachers are entitled to a free reconnaissance visit. Alternatively a meeting can be arranged with a member of the education team.
