Town Centre

Overlooking the Castle Grounds, Ankerside Shopping centre, with over 60 shops and cafes is a child friendly shopping day out for the whole family. It is fully enclosed and, therefore you can enjoy it whatever the weather! It is centrally located and with over 600 parking spaces (disabled parking floor 5) and easy access on foot from the train station or bus terminus an ideal way to spend some shopping time whilst visiting the Castle Grounds or Castle.

Market Days

The town centre comes alive with a variety of market stalls along Market Street, George Street and St. Editha's Square. The traditional market days are complimented with occasional farmers markets and French or specialist markets during the year. Please call 01827 709581 for further details.

Out of Town

Just 10 minutes on foot from the town centre, via the historic Ladybridge, are the new retail parks - Ventura Park and Jolly Sailor Retail Park, which feature many high street stores and supermarkets. Its location, just off the A5, makes is convenient for visitors and locals and there is ample parking available.
