Letting empty properties at Thomas Hardy Court

Extra care housing aims for residents to continue to live in their own home for as long as possible that is enabled by excellent facilities and flexible services at Thomas Hardy Court.

A Joint Partner Allocation Panel agrees applicants accepted on to the extra care waiting list and the allocation of empty properties.

The scheme provides for a range of dependency and ability levels amongst tenants. To ensure an active community and that a balance is kept between those who are frail and those who are not, the lettings of empty properties is  based on the below profile:

Low Dependency

15 units

Requiring housing-related support only – equates to conventional sheltered housing

Medium Dependency

 

17 units

Requiring housing-related support plus some personal care and supervision

High Dependency

17 Units

Requiring a level of intensive care and support

The level of care needs is assessed against the ‘Fair Access to Care’ criteria which is available under the heading More Information of the right.
