Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults
Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults from harm and
promoting their welfare is everyone’s responsibility. Tamworth
Children’s Trust works closely with Staffordshire Safeguarding
Children’s Board to ensure robust safeguarding procedures are in
place to protect children from harm. Tamworth Children’s Trust will
require all partners to submit a copy of their organisations
safeguarding policy to the Board.
The Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board brings together
representatives of each of the main agencies and professionals
responsible for helping to protect children from abuse and neglect.
It is an inter-agency forum for agreeing how the different services
and professional groups should co-operate to safeguard children
throughout Staffordshire (except Stoke-on-Trent, which has its own
Safeguarding Board) and, for making sure that arrangements work
effectively in bringing about better outcomes for children.
The Staffordshire Safeguarding
Children’s Board website provides information on safeguarding
for children and young people, parents and carers and
professionals. Details of safeguarding training courses are also
available.
If you think someone is being abused or you think their safety
is at risk, then it is important to tell someone.
Where a crime has been committed or if you're worried about
someone's immediate safety, contact the Police by dialling999.
Otherwise you should report your concerns to a county council
social work team.
