Landlord Accreditation
Tamworth Borough Council has a new Landlord
Accreditation Scheme.
Tamworth Landlord Accreditation Scheme (TLAS) is a voluntary
scheme that landlords with properties in Tamworth are being
encouraged to join, Whether a landlord has one or fifty
properties there is no mimimum or maximum number required.
The aims of the scheme are to encourage, acknowledge and
actively promote good standards of privately rented accommodation
and to assist landlords via training and other means to become the
best they can be. We run training courses and share information
that will assist landlords in their business.
The scheme applies to the private rented sector only and does not
include housing association properties.
How the scheme operates
The landlord should complete an application form which can be
downloaded via the link on the right. Once a completed application
has been received with the supporting documentation a Council
Officer will come and inspect all properties to be put on the
scheme.
When the paperwork has been processed and the inspection
satisfactorily completed accreditation will be awarded for a
period of 2 years.
Any Private Sector Landlords with properties in Tamworth are
also encouraged to attend the Private Sector Landlords Forum.
If you are interested in becoming an accredited landlord or
would like to attend the forum please contact the Landlord Liaison
and Empty Homes Officer on 01827 709345 or email marilyn-mcnally@tamworth.gov.uk
