The Private Sector Housing Strategy 2009 -2012 has been produced by the Housing Strategy Team, in partnership with the Private Sector Housing Team and key stakeholders.  The document is a sub strategy of Tamworth Borough Councils main Housing Strategy 2007 -2010. 

The strategy identifies priorities for action and sets out how the Private Sector Housing Team will deliver its service for the next three years.  

The priorities identified for private sector housing are to:

• Improve the quality of private sector housing
• Enable households to live independently
• Increase the supply of good quality private sector accommodation
• Effectively monitor and improve the service

The priorities were identified by considering relevant legislation, the wide range of other strategies and policies at national, regional and local level, consultation undertaken by the Housing Strategy Team with key stakeholders and a robust evidence base. 

The strategy will be reviewed annually to monitor its progress and take into account any alterations in legislation or policy.
