Welcome to the Council’s choice based lettings service called Finding a Home.

All our empty homes are advertised on the website, the local press and displayed in Marmion House reception. 

What is choice?

• You make the decision about where you want to live and when you want to move; this helps to:
• Create settled communities where people choose to move to and stay;
• Through advertising you can see all our available empty properties which makes it a fair simpler and open service
• Makes the best use of the housing stock through initiatives such as the incentive to move scheme
• Sign posting our customers to financial assistance to help them remain in their own home i.e. mortgage rescue;
• Working with others organisations to prevent homelessness

Making use of internal trained mediators to return people home

• Working with private landlords and housing associations to provide more available housing  
• Our new Finding a Home website is where all our empty properties will be advertised and you will be able to ‘express an interest’ in moving to.
