Support in Accessing the Service
The Council advertises empty properties on the
website as well as in the reception area of the main council
building Marmion House where computers are free to use
and staff are on hand to offer practical help in using the
system.
Tamworth is committed to working with
vulnerable people to ensure there are no barriers to accessing the
Finding a Home Service. Case Officers are assigned
to assist the following groups of people:
- older people
- people with learning difficulties
- people with mental health problems
- disabled people
- people with difficulty reading and
writing;
- people whose drug and alcohol abuse renders
them vulnerable
- young people particularly applicants aged 16
or 17 and those leaving care
- homeless households
- prisoners coming up for release
- people leaving hospital
Any organisation that provides you with
support is also able to place a bid on your behalf, known as ‘
proxy bids’; all local agencies receive a weekly e- advert of
our empty properties.
In June our first Finding a Home Housing
Options e bulletin was sent to agencies to keep them up to date
with the service as well as planned developments.
