Garage tenancy conditions
1. The Council shall
not be held responsible in respect of loss of or damage (howsoever
occasioned) to any property brought on to any premises of the
Council under the terms or as a result of this tenancy and the
tenant indemnifies the Council in respect of any damage to the
Council's property (other than reasonable wear and tear) and in
respect of injury sustained by any person and in respect also of
the loss of or damage to his or her property occasioned through or
as a result of or in connection with the use by the tenant of the
said accommodation.
2. The total inclusive weekly rent shall be
paid in advance each Monday.
3. The tenant shall not assign, sublet or
part with possession of the garage without written consent of the
Council.
4. The tenant shall keep the garage in a
clean and tidy condition. On termination of the tenancy, the
garage shall be left in a clean condition free of all rubbish, or
the tenant shall pay the cost of cleansing or removal of
rubbish.
5. The tenant shall not use the garage in
any way which may cause annoyance or disturbance to any neighbour
nor carry on a trade from the garage, nor use the garage for any
other purpose than to house his/her own motor vehicle.
6.The tenant shall permit the Council and
its' agents at all reasonable times and where necessary with
workmen, to enter the garage to view the condition or carry out
repairs. The tenant shall pay the cost of repairing any
damage to the garage in his/her occupation other than that arising
from ordinary wear and tear.
7. The tenant shall observe and comply
with the provision of the Petroleum (Consolidation) Act 1928, and
of any other statute and of any byelaws and regulations made
thereunder for the time being in force relating to the storage of
petroleum.
8. The tenancy is a weekly one and may
be determined at any time by one week's notice in writing by the
Council or by the tenant to expire on a Monday.
9. On breach by the tenant of any of
these conditions, the tenancy may be summarily determined by the
Council at any time.
