Consultation Programme
September 2011. Council Members approved
the principle of the disposal of 26 under used garage sites across
the Borough to partner registered housing providers to develop
affordable housing. Everyone who rents a garage has been
written to and given as much notice as possible to inform them of
the planned changes. Customers have the opportunity to rent an
alternative garage.
November 2011. Council
Members approved management and investment options for the
remaining 63 garage sites.
Consultation meeting held with local residents
in areas covered in Phase 1 and plans for affordable housing on
garage sites to be disposed of from housing providers.
December 2011.
Confirmation sent to all garage customers of the sites planned for
disposal and retaining.
The Tenants Consultative Group (TCG) is due to
discuss a programme of improvements to be made and prioritising
these which will focus on guttering, painting, numbering, as well
as door and roof replacements where necessary.

details become finalised.
