Finding a Garage

'Finding a Garage' is our new choice based garage allocations scheme, designed to allow you to make the decision about where you want to rent a garage.

How does the new garage allocations scheme work?   

All available garages will be advertised weekly, every Wednesday. Each advert tells you the garage's location

• Computers are available for you to use in Marmion House's reception. Staff will be on hand to assist you if you need help.

Step I: Register on the waiting list. You will receive an instant garage application number

Step 2: Express your interest – place a bid against any of the garages you are interested in, using your garage application number

Step 3:   If you are at the top of the bidding short list you will be contacted.  Please note all current or former council rent accounts held must be clear otherwise your bid will be automatically discounted.

Step 4: You will be given 48 hours to view the garage. You will need to verify your personal details to us: name, address, any disability you may have and vehicle registration documents of the vehicle you intend to keep in the garage.

Once these have been checked a date will be agreed with you to sign the garage tenancy agreement and collect the keys.

What does it cost to rent a garage?

Town centre garages    

A premium charge of an additional 71p per week will be charged, on top of the weekly rent, if you do not live within the town centre vicinity.

If you fail to pay your garage rent and fall into arrears of more than four weeks, your garage tenancy will end.
