Bumble Bees
Queen bees tend to start looking for a nesting site during
March, depending on weather conditions. These are usually at ground
level in holes, compost heaps or under garden sheds.
Bumble bees are beneficial as they pollinate fruit trees and
plants. There is every reason therefore to conserve bees as their
numbers are declining rapidly. Although they can sting they will
only do so when seriously provoked.
The use of insecticide spray treatments are unlikely to achieve
any lasting effect alone.
