TAMWORTH BOROUGH
COUNCIL
Under the Local Authorities (Referendums)
(Petition and Directions) (England) Regulations 2000 I am required
to publish each year the number that is equal to 5 per cent (5%) of
the number of local government electors for the Tamworth Borough
Council area as shown in the electoral register. The figure
for the period covered by the current year’s register is 2,879.
This figure is relevant in the context of
whether any petition submitted to the Council carries sufficient
signatures to require a referendum to be held upon whether the
Council should have an Elected Mayor.
