The Councils Housing Officers will be leading
regular Estate Walkabouts to give residents
a
chance to have their say about where they live and work together to
improve the estate. Residents on the estate will be joined by their
local Housing Officers, Caretakers, local Councillors, Police and
other key agencies.
Each of the walkabouts will include a briefing
session, a tour of the estate, a log of all of the issues
identified and an action plan. Officers and residents will agree
together how best to solve any problems or issues identified to
improve the estate.
“The aim of the Estate Walkabouts is for our
residents to be able to give direct feedback to our Housing
Officers and other partners” said Councillor Mary Oates, portfolio
holder for Quality of Life. “We will be able to work together to
identify any issues and work out how to solve them. Residents will
be able to have their say on the improvements needed to their
estate and will also know what action is being taken and just how
long it will take. We want our residents to be part of their
surrounding community and have a chance to take control of the area
where they live.”
