Mayor's 100 engagements in 10 weeks
Mayor of Tamworth Borough Council, Cllr
Tina Clements, has reached her century - attending 100 functions in
her first 10 weeks as Mayor.
Cllr Clements hit the landmark when she
represented the borough at Polesworth Cycling Festival in
neighbouring North Warwickshire.
Since taking office in May, Cllr Clements has
had a packed diary each week, attending a wide range of events
including school assemblies, theatre productions, charity
fundraisers, coffee mornings, sporting events and civic
services.
She also welcomed the Olympic Torch into the
Castle Grounds when it came to Tamworth during the Olympic Torch
Relay last month, was a guest of the Queen at a Royal garden party
at Buckingham Palace and held a charity Zumbathon at the
SnowDome.
Cllr Clements said: “It is a real honour to be
chosen as the Mayor of Tamworth and to represent the borough at so
many different events. It is a real privilege for me to have shared
in these events to have met so many wonderful and inspiring
people.”
