Make sure that you pay your rent on time is the message from Tamworth Borough Council in the run up-to Christmas.

The council launched its ‘Rent First’ campaign, offering help and advice to people who may be facing difficulties paying their rent over the festive period and encouraging them to make payment of their rent their top priority.

A poster reminding tenants of the Rent First message will be displayed across the borough – and will even be seen on the back of buses.

Staff have already manned a stall on Tamworth market where they answered questions on making rent payments and where to get further advice and information.

Staff will be setting up their stall again at the market on Saturday between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

The aim of the campaign is to make sure tenants are aware of all the ways they can pay their rent and to ensure that it is paid up to date over the Christmas period.
