Capital Strategy
The Capital Strategy is Tamworth Borough Council’s framework for
the allocation and management of capital resources within the
Authority, and the values are applied to the strategic direction of
the Authority’s capital investment. The aim is to provide real
benefit to the citizens of Tamworth and through capital investment
to attain our vision.
The Capital Strategy identifies how the investment of capital
resources contributes to the achievement of the Authority’s key
objectives and priorities that are detailed in Service / Business
Performance Plans. The various strategic plans have been drawn up
and include input from the Local Strategic Partnership comprising
representatives from the Authority and other public bodies, local
business and community and voluntary groups. In this way the
Authority’s overall strategy will reflect the visions and
aspirations of local people for service delivery and recognises the
potential for others to contribute ideas and resources.
The Capital Strategy is one of the key, overarching strategies
including the Asset Management Plan that supports service
plans.
The Capital Strategy also determines the priorities between the
various services and looks for opportunities for cross-cutting and
joined –up investment. The Capital Strategy also includes the
involvement and where appropriate and contribution to neighbourhood
renewal and tackling deprivation.
