The Attendance Action Group has been established to improve children and young people between the age of 5 and 19 years educational achievement, well being and life chances, by maximising their attendance, in particular those that are at risk of becoming disengaged.

The Attendance Action Group is comprised of key local stakeholders including primary and secondary schools, the Community and Learning Partnership, Education Welfare Officers, the Youth Service and Police. The group recently ran an attendance week in the five secondary schools. Each school was targeted on a different day and pupil’s attendance was monitored. This initiative proved to be very successful with all key partners being involved throughout the week. This type of event demonstrates the strength of partnership working in Tamworth.
