Tamworth District Children's Trust Board

The Tamworth District Children’s Trust Board was established in October 2006 and has a strategic responsibility for implementing the Staffordshire and Tamworth Children and Young People’s Plan and the Staffordshire and Tamworth Local Area Agreement.

The Tamworth Children’s Trust Board is made up of leaders from health services, police, local authority, schools the voluntary sector and other services. The Board has developed a broad understanding of what it wants to achieve for children and young people in Tamworth.

The Tamworth Children’s Trust Board meets four times a year and is chaired by Councillor Mary Oates. The Children’s Trust Operations Group sits below the Trust Board and is made up of a diverse range of individuals who integrate, co-ordinate, plan and deliver services to children and young people in Tamworth, this group meets every eight weeks.

There are six sub-groups that sit below the Operations Group:-

  1. 14-19 Partnership
  2. Attendance Action Group
  3. Play and Positive Activity Partnership
  4. Parents Information Forum
  5. Prevention of Adverse Risk Taking Behaviour Group (PARB)
  6. Community and Learning partnership Management Advisory Groups

These sub-groups focus on specific areas of service delivery and the Chair of each group attends the Operations Group meeting.  Any issues that cannot be resolved at an Operations Group level are escalated to the Children’s Trust Board for resolution.
