Funding and Grants
Tamworth Borough Council Voluntary and
Community Sector Commissioning Framework
In line with national best practice,
Tamworth Borough Council has conducted an eighteen month review of
our Commissioned services, processes and procedures for awarding
grants to voluntary sector organisations. This has been to
inform an “intelligent commissioning” approach to funding the
Voluntary and Community Sector in Tamworth which has been
implemented in July 2010 . The review involved the local Voluntary
and Community Sector from the outset and ensured that new
commissioning procedures are Compact compliant, clear and
transparent.
This piece of work has been cited as
best practice and we have joined up funding steams and priorities
with health, housing and environment meaning a total of £683,838
has been commissioned out to the Voluntary and Community
sector.
