Guided Tours for Private Groups

Step through 900 years of history in Tamworth’s magnificent motte and bailey Castle.  The ancient walls hold many secrets, from sieges and hauntings to royal visits and bankruptcy.
Informative and enjoyable Guided tours are available for groups (minimum of 12) both daytime and evenings. 
A costumed guide will bring the Castle’s colourful history to life.  Hear tales of lords and lady’s, maids and squires, discover the weight and feel of weapons and costume and learn how the building developed over the centuries.  Tours last approximately 1½ hours.   For an extra £2.00 per person tea, coffee and a generous slice of cake is served in the 15th Century Great Hall.

Parking details.  The nearest coach car park is situated at the Jolly Sailor car park and is about a five minute walk away from the castle. There are also access points for drop offs near to the Castle.
