Your Castle needs you ... Exciting volunteer opportunities at Tamworth Castle

We were delighted when we heard the amazing news this summer that the Castle has successfully secured Heritage Lottery Funding for our project “Out of the Bailey into the Keep”.

Ready, steady, Go……….
So now the work begins and volunteers are crucial to the successful delivery of the project.  We are now recruiting volunteers to help us research and deliver our Heritage Lottery Funded project.  At this early stage we are searching for a small number of volunteers to help research historical information for the new medieval exhibition, panels and living history activities.

Volunteers will work closely with the Castle team:

  • Researching and collating historical information with in the castle’s archives, library records and relevant records office/s documents.
  • Contributing to the production of exhibition text and living history role descriptions and scripts.
  • Identifying and documenting artefact's to be used within the new displays.

Please click here for details of the Volunteer Role Descriptions ~ this information will help you decide if the role is of interest to you.
