In the charter on Incorporation of Queen Elizabeth in the 1560
it is recorded that Tamworth held a market every Saturday and that
it had done since Saxon times. With a market having ties so far
back in heritage, today’s Tamworth Market is vibrant, busy and
above all, has not lost any of the local market atmosphere carried
through the ages.
The General Market , What, When
and Where?
We currently hold a busy, vibrant General
Market in Market Street, George Street, St Editha’s square and
Colehill every Tuesday and Saturday.
There are around 95 stalls selling a wide
range of products including stalls from Fresh Produce to household
and Fashion clothes items.
General trading hours of the market are
8:30am to 4:30pm.
Please click on the link to the right hand
side of the page for information on car parking locations and

There are also street vendors trading
regularly in the town throughout the week selling Hot food amongst
