Summary
|
If you control non-domestic premises you must ensure that you
notify Tamworth Borough Council of any cooling tower or
evaporative condenser (notifiable devices) on the premises, this
includes the location, installation and contact details.
All premises which have cooling towers and evaporative
condensers must register with the local authority under
The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers
Regulations 1992 (OPSI website).
The main purpose of this is to identify potential areas that
could give rise to spread of infectious disease e.g. legionella,
and to ensure preventative measures are taken to eliminate the risk
of such infection arising to employees and members of the
public. We share the information you give us with the Health
and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Health
Protection Agency (HPA),
You must notify Tamworth Borough Council of any changes to the
notification information within one month of the change, in
writing.
If the device ceases to be a notifiable device you must notify
Tamworth Borough Council in writing as soon as possible.
